Hawai‘i TESOL Travel Grants

Aloha Hawai‘i TESOL Members,

Hawai‘i TESOL is excited to announce the availability of a limited number of Students First Neighbor Island Travel Grants for the 2018 Hawai‘i TESOL Conference at Hawaii Tokai International College in Kapolei, Hawai‘i. These travel grants are funded entirely by membership fees and member donations.


Purpose:  To support neighbor island ESL specialists in attending the Hawai‘i TESOL Conference on February 17, 2018.

Who’s Eligible:  Hawai‘i TESOL neighbor island members in good standing. 

Amount:  Each grant consists of a $100 award.

Criteria:  Students will receive first priority for grant awards. All applicants will be evaluated according to (a) reasons for wanting to attend the conference and (b) the benefits that attending the conference will bring to them and others in their community.  (Note: Recipients of a Hawai‘i TESOL travel grant are not eligible for the same award twice within a two-year period.)

To Apply:  Send to the email address below a 250-word (maximum) personal statement that includes (a) your name, email address, institutional affiliation, and status (student or non-student); (b) your reasons for attending the conference; and (c) ways you and others in your community will benefit from your experience at the conference. Applications that lack any of the above information may not be considered.
